It’s been a bit quiet around here for the last couple of weeks as I’ve been traveling in outback Queensland (dinosaur footprints! dinosaur bones!) for the school holidays with hubs, my 3 kids and my parents.
The lack of internet in the outback allowed me to finally finish this wonderful book ‘The Matter of the Heart’ by Thomas Morris. It chronicles the events and people (and egos and animals!) involved in the development of eleven therapeutic cardiac procedures, some of which are commonplace now but were previously considered impossible by the experts of the day.
An amazing triumph of humanity and excellent reminder that creativity is vital in medicine and science ❤️
